The Heartbeat of our Mission

We are a US IRS-recognized non-profit organization that helps families and people break the cycle of poverty through God, education, and skills. We believe that everyone has the potential to succeed, and we provide hope and encouragement to help people reach their full potential.

We work in the impoverished area of Punta Caliente, Roatan to provide six basic needs and to see hope returned to children, families, and communities on the island. These needs are: clean water, proper food, healthcare, education, job skills, and Christ-centered, loving homes.  Our partner onsite is Feed the Bight, which is operated through Capilla Punta Caliente church. Pastored by David and Heather Granada, it has fast become the Christ anchor and community center of Punta Caliente.

Jeremiah 29:11 ESV “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Ongoing Projects

Feed the Hungry

Many people on the island work in the tourism industry however, the cost of the transportation to and from the job is prohibitive in most cases. Also, if the person is an unskilled laborer they only make about $2 per hour. This lack of employment and opportunity leaves most families struggling to feed their families.

Donations of any amount can help.

  • $5 supplies a week’s worth of powdered milk
  • $10 fills a liquid propane tank for cooking
  • $15 provides lunches for a student for one week
  • $20 buys rice and beans for a family for one week
  • $30 provides potable water for a month
  • $100 supplies a family of 5 with basic food for two weeks.

Your donation will make a difference in the lives of these families. Please consider giving today.

Education really is the key to a brighter future. We offer the opportunity to sponsor a student for a semester or a whole year. Donations for sponsored children covers tuition, uniforms and other needs.

Additionally, we offer targeted campaigns for specific needs throughout the school year.

Please consider giving a child a brighter tomorrow by investing in their education today.

Educate the Children

Teach Life Skills

Life skills are essential for young people to succeed in life and can help an adult alter the course of their life. They are the combination of skills, knowledge, and attitudes that enable people to adapt to, function, and thrive in society. Life skills include things like critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and financial literacy.

Here are some specific examples of life skills that young people can learn:

  • Health education: This includes information about nutrition, physical activity, and sexual health.
  • Money management: This includes learning how to budget, save, and invest money.
  • Writing effectively: This includes learning how to write clearly and concisely.
  • Listening skills: This includes learning how to listen attentively and respectfully.
  • Self-awareness: This includes learning about your own strengths and weaknesses.
  • Empathy: This includes learning how to understand and care about others.
  • Self-control: This includes learning how to manage your emotions and behavior.
  • Problem-solving: This includes learning how to identify and solve problems.
  • Teamwork: This includes learning how to work effectively with others.
  • Resilience: This includes learning how to bounce back from setbacks.

Everyone can offer something to help people learn life skills. You can volunteer your time to teach a class, mentor a young person, or donate to an organization that provides life skills education. By working together, we can break the cycle of poverty and give young people the tools they need to succeed.
